What should you know before taking your Annual Technical Inspection?

  • Part I and Part II (also known as the large slip and the small slip). You can also submit a copy of Part I (the large slip), but Part II (the small slip) must be submitted in original.

  • The person presenting the vehicle is required to provide an ID card and driver's license

  • The ATI is valid until the date recorded in the inspection certificate. Passenger cars and trucks of category M1 and N1 undergo technical inspection every year. Passenger taxis and vehicles of category M2 and M3 – every 6 months.

  • During the Annual Technical Inspection, the entire condition of the car, truck or bus is monitored. Vehicle identification – license plates and documentation. Measurement of the braking system. Condition of the brakes, handbrake and ABS. Condition of the steering system. Functioning of all lights – stop lights, headlights, turn signals, gauges. Condition of the electrical equipment – ​​battery. Condition of the tires, axles and suspension. Harmful effects – noise, exhaust emissions. Vehicle equipment – ​​first aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle, seat belts, etc.

  • To appear for a ATI, you must have a valid third party liability insurance policy. The availability and validity of the compulsory civil liability insurance is checked electronically. Therefore, when performing a ATI, it is not necessary to provide the policy.

  • There is no way a car can pass an Annual Technical Inspection without paying the vehicle tax. The check is again done electronically.
